Ever wondered what makes obeying the commandments of God so worthful? It is our freedom to disobey them and yet not be disowned by God.
Origen remarks; “𝘞𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭. 𝘖𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴.”
When we transgress a commandment, instead of disowning us, God rather patiently waits for us (cajoling us throughout) to return to Him awaiting not our eloquent and verbose confessions but to throw His arms around us in unparalleled joy and relish a sumptuous feast with us.
Leaders – both secular and ecclesial – who disown if disobeyed need to re-evaluate their parochial conception of fidelity against the largesse of God.
